Golden State Warriors beat Dallas Mavericks by 109-100, take 3-0 lead in Western Conference finals

Golden State Warriors continued their good show against Dallas Mavericks as they won by 109-100 on Sunday night to take a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. The Dubs are now one win away from the NBA Finals. Steph Curry once again top-scored for GSW as he scored 31 points on 10-20 shooting.

However, the highlight of the match was when Andrew Wiggins scored a searing dunk against Dallas Mavericks talisman Luka Doncic. Doncic scored 40 points for the Mavs but his efforts once again went in vain.

Wiggins scored 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting and also added 11 rebounds. Thus, he was at his absolute best for GSW.

Doncic admitted that Wiggins’ dunk was really impressive. “That was impressive, I’m not going to lie,” Doncic said of the poster. “I saw the video again, and I was like, ooh. That was pretty incredible. I wish I had those bunnies.”

In fact, Wiggins has been impressive throughout the season and has played an instrumental role in the success of the team. The team’s forward Draymond Green was full of praise for Wiggins and hailed his teammate for elevating his own level of play.

“If you can come in and play good basketball, you can essentially put a team away tonight,” Warriors forward Draymond Green said. “Now this team isn’t going to quit … but you can instill a lot of doubt with coming out and winning this game. And we knew that.”

“That’s a guy who has been criticized for being lackadaisical and the beat goes on, you’ve heard it all, yet on the biggest stage, he’s come through,” Green said. “It’s great to see, absolutely amazing to see him pick up his level of play.”

Klay Thompson also heaped praise on Andrew Wiggins and added that the team will try to make him a champion.

“He’s worked so hard to get to this point,” Thompson said. “We’ve just got to help him become a champion, and he will obviously help us. What he did tonight … that’s what we brought him on for. He is such a talented player. I’m so grateful we have him.”

The fourth game of the series will be played on Tuesday night and GSW will have a chance to close the series and qualify for the NBA finals.
